Maggie Turned One!
We took her to the doctor this week.  Her latest stats:  still has blue eyes, 21 and half pounds (75th percentile), 30 and half inches long (90th percentile).  She's doing great!  Lots of crawling and talking, but still no walking.  She's working on it, but some things in life can't be rushed!

We also had a little birthday celebration.  Lots of fun was had by all!
Brent's favorite picture - he gets teary eyed just looking at it.
(Yes, that is a pink pool in my living room.  I have my parents to thank for that.)

Why can't we have strawberries and bananas for birthday celebrations?  I was out-voted.

Such a big girl!!!!

I had nothing to do with this...Brent just couldn't resist putting the birthday hat on the birthday girl!

Dancing Queen!

Brent and I thought you all might enjoy a few cute pictures, along with a fun video of Maggie.  Maggie has developed a HUGE fondness for music.  If she hears it on the television, radio, or even a cell phone ringing, she starts "dancing."  We were out eating lunch the other day, and she heard music.  Before I could give her another bite of food, she was "jamming."

As for other family news:
  • Brent and I just ran our second half marathon.  We had lots of fun, but are taking a little break as the summer approaches.  Columbia heat and running long distances don't exactly mix (at least not in our books).
  • Brent's sister, Jenny, has returned from Thailand.  We are so glad to have Crazy Aunt Jenny back in town.  Maggie is particularly smitten with her Aunt Jenny.  This could be trouble!
  • In two months, my brother and his wife will be leaving Alaska and heading back to the East Coast (Connecticut).  We will be glad to be back in the same time zone.  It will be so nice to have them both within driving distance.  Although, Maggie....long drives....we'll have to think about this one.  But, it's a good problem to have!
  • Maggie's celebrating her one year old birthday in May.  My, how time flies!
We hope you are all doing well!

It's true...

Yep, Maggie is crawling!  It isn't pretty, it isn't fast, it isn't even productive, but she's doing it!

In other news, Miss Maggie returned to the doctor in late February and here are her latest stats:

Height:  29 1/2 inces
Weight:  19 pounds 3 ounces
Eyes:  Still blue - I think this is a definite!

As for other family news:
  • Our beloved Crazy Aunt Jenny (Brent's sister...also a self proclaimed nickname) is home from Thailand!!!  We are so glad to have her home!
  • The marvelous Uncle Chip and Aunt Christine (my brother and his wife) are leaving Alaska in June and heading to Connecticut!
  • Brent and I are running in a half marathon this weekend.  Wish us luck!  We'll post a picture of us in our running gear!

Brent is usually in charge of bath time.  And, as you can see, he bought some bubble bath at Target yesterday.  It was a little out of control...as evidenced by the video below.

Holiday Fun!

We hope you all enjoyed the holidays. Aside from a double ear infection on Christmas Eve, a quick shot, and some medicine, Maggie had a wonderful Christmas. We truly enjoyed spending the holidays with our families.

Uncle Chip and Aunt Christine (my brother and his wife) came home from Alaska, and Aunt Jenny (Brent's sister) returned from Thailand. We couldn't have asked for better presents!

Maggie...a star!

Doctor's Report
Maggie had her six month doctor's visit at the end of November.  She weighed in at 16 pounds, 14 ounces (60th percentile) and 27 and a half inches long (90th percentile).  Her eyes are still a very pretty blue, and she is still just a very happy baby.  The doctor said she is doing well and her growth is right on track.

The Star
We also attended Maggie's Christmas play at Ms. Pam's (her daycare) on Friday.  Below is a link to the entire play.  If you want to skip to certain parts (i.e. Maggie-related) the times are below.  Brent was in control of the camera, and as you will notice, he frequently zoomed in on Maggie.

You probably  don't want to watch the whole thing...the 4:00 and 13:00 minute marks are the big ones...

Maggie is going to become a techie like Brent.

No, she's not in Alaska, just sunny Columbia (where it is in the 70s)
More pictures to come from the holidays, but we wanted The Maggie Fan Club to have a sneak peek at her theatrical debut!

Happy Halloween!

We just had to share!  Look at our little nanner'! :)

Seriously, if this doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will....

Of course, Brent found the farm animals and had to show them to Maggie.
Frightfully cute!

Maggie is happy, she just doesn't realize it.

The newest stats....

Birth                        Two Months Old                       Four Months Old
Weight:     7 lbs., 11 oz                         11 lbs., 8 oz.                    14 lbs., 10 oz. (50th percentile)
Height:     20.25 in. long                      23.75 in. long                        26 in. long  (90th percentile)
Eyes:             Blue                                       Blue                                       Still Blue!!!!

Maggie is still stinkin' cute and being spoiled daily.  I wish I could blame this solely on Brent, but I have been quite guilty of spoiling her myself.  It's hard not to when she turns her little smile into a frown.  We know we are being manipulated, but we can't resist her charm (just yet).

Her personality has developed more and more over the past two months.  She is very much like Brent in that she loves to sit back and relax (even watching television).  She is generally very happy and smiles at almost anything.  She can get a little impatient when she decides she wants something, but once she gets it, she's back to being calm and relaxed.  Overall, we have been blessed with a very happy, healthy, and peaceful baby.

On another note, Brent and I have both taken up running.  Brent decided when I was about 7 months pregnant to become a runner and inspired me to join him after I had Maggie.  Of course, he has become the running expert.  If you need any information regarding your "hydration levels," ways to avoid injuries, running etiquette, etc., Brent can give you many, many, many pieces of advice.

We ran our first 5K race on Saturday and he was full of advice.  Before we even got out of bed on Saturday, he was "prepping" me on what I should drink on "running" days, advice on my core temperature, etc.  It's amazing I was able to complete the race without having conducted extensive research on RUNNING!!!  Anyhow, we had a blast and are planning to attempt a half marathon in March.  We're hoping that telling people of our plans will hold us accountable and keep us working towards our goal.

Overall, life is good in the Reese household...Maggie's current record of sleeping through the night is 5 nights.  We're hoping to achieve a week soon.

Love to you all!

Check out the pictures below...Brent was responsible for the captions.

Eh?  What did you say?

Ooooh  oooooh  Ahhh ahhhh
